2025 was a turning point for Hajipur and Bihar, not the destination and not the end. That year Dr. Ashutosh Singh resigned as Senior Scientist at CNRS in France. It was a deliberate sacrifice of the career he had built across India, America, and Europe, so that his full energy could be devoted to Hajipur and Bihar.

In 2025 Dr. Ashutosh Singh resigned from his position as Senior Scientist at CNRS in France. It was a deliberate sacrifice of the scientific career he had built across India, America, and Europe. His plan was to devote his full energy to Hajipur and Bihar, to stand against poor policymaking, to bring the standards he had seen abroad, and to offer a real alternative to career politics.
His aim was never office for its own sake. When Jan Suraaj emerged, it promised voters capable alternatives, not a repeat of familiar politics. Dr. Singh believed that if a new force was genuinely offering change across Bihar, entering the Hajipur race personally would only narrow their chance. So he did not contest the 2025 assembly election.
Later, when the calibre of candidates and the clarity of intent did not match what had been promised, and old patterns seemed to return, he felt regret. His commitment remains unchanged: for Hajipur, bring scientific thinking, integrity, and work on the ground.
Jan Suraaj, a fair chance
Jan Suraaj had promised that voters would get capable alternatives, not a repeat of familiar politics. Dr. Singh believed that if a new force was genuinely offering change across Bihar, entering the Hajipur race personally would only narrow their chance. So he did not contest the 2025 assembly election, in order to give Jan Suraaj a fair opportunity.
2025 election, context
The 2025 Bihar Assembly election took place in November. That same year Dr. Ashutosh Singh had resigned as Senior Scientist at CNRS in France, planning to devote himself fully to Hajipur and Bihar. In Hajipur, Jan Suraaj fielded Pratibha Sinha, and BJP's Awadhesh Singh won the seat. Dr. Singh was not a candidate, because he had stepped aside to give Jan Suraaj a fair chance.

The election was a turning point, not the end of the road. Dr. Singh’s resolve is unchanged: thinking, honesty, and work on the ground for Hajipur — through ideas, a team, and real contact with people.
